RIDING ON THE SAND IN SALISBURY

A RIDE ON THE BEACH

As I mentioned in other posts Salisbury Beach Reservation which is five miles south of Hampton Beach does allow riding clubs the opportunity to take advantage of some good old riding on the beach. Before you head out there with your trusted steed you should check with state and local authorities to get the times and rules for this activity. The Salisbury MA police could probably point you in the right direction.

ENJOY NASCAR IN NH

LOUDON INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY Posted by Hello

Since It's Inception The Loudon International Speedway has brought millions of tourist and racing dollars to NH. Loudon is about an hour north west of Hampton route 101 to 93 get off a Loudon road. If your luck enough to catch a NASCAR event you'll be thrilled. This photo was taken the day before a big event. Still plenty to see and do. Thousands of people arrive the week before the race to start partying in their RVS. After the races it can take a while to get out but the local and state police have found creative ways of moving traffic swiftly. If you do not mind spending a serious amount of cash you can take a helicopter from Hampton or Rye, enjoy the race and be home for dinner.

ONE OF THE BEST PRESERVED BRIDGES

JACKSON NH COVERED BRIDGE Posted by Hello

Another fabulous day trip or overniter is the Conway, N. Conway and Jackson NH area. Head up route 95 from Hampton and take route 16 in Portsmouth. This will bring right to the mountains. Tax free outlet stores abound in this area. Just north of N. Conway you'll find one of the best restored covered bridges in the state. There are numerous rivers and streams to investigate and a couple of miles further north you can take the Gondola to the top of Wildcat mountain year round. Wildcat is located just across the street from the foot trails leading to the top of Mt Washington. This is not a climb for novices. Be prepared. I was climbing MT Chocorua one time with a friend of mine and half way up these two guys with black dress shoes on came up to us and asked " Hey Mr. is there water at the top" Amazing what people think. I said sure right next to the McDonald's and Papa Gino's

AMTRAK GETS AN "A" FROM EXETER

ALL ABOARD Posted by Hello

On Tuesday we decided to do something we have been putting off for I guess five years. And I'm glad we did. We drove the fifteen minutes west to Exeter after ordering Amtrak tickets on line and we were off to Portland Maine. I thought this would be a relaxing day. What could hurt. Nice luxurious train ride to Portland, taxi into town and I nice restaurant and back again. Well I recently had surgery and about sixty seconds into the trip I realized that everything wiggles. By the time I got there I was a mess so no trip into town just get me back home.. This was my fault trying to do too much too soon. The train was clean on time and would have been a real pleasure under different circumstances. I would reccomend this train for getting either to Boston or Portland. Espescially when the Maine turnpike is backed up for hours as it so often is!! So if you wanted to go to Old Orchard Beach for the day this is perfect. The train stops right in the middle of all the activities. We spent $56.00 for 2 from Exeter to Portland round trip. There is also a snack car on the train and I think they are still doing a Sunday brunch. Just wait more then a week if you've had major surgery because it does wiggle.
