HOT SUMMER DAY AT HAMPTON BEACH
Seagull

It's going to be hot today and the beach will be no different. Judging for the sandcastle cometition will be at 4pm. The area is lighted at night so if you can't get there until after dark you'll still get a good look at everything. I don't know why I used that crazy seagull picture but I like the bird. He flew in front of the camera and just floated right there for a second and the focus got all messed up.
Don't forget the sunscreen and have a great day in Hampton.
THE OLD MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN
old man of the mountain

I really never thought I would out live The Old Man of The Mountain however I did!
You can still visit the tourist center there but for those of us that grew up seeing this guy the image is burned in our brains. Traveling through the notch as kids I 'll always remember everytime we came around that corner and waited with anticipation for that majestic face to appear and suddenly there he was. Each time just as impressive as the time before. The reason I 'm bringing up the mountains is the the fact that it's going to be very hot this weekend and the nights are always cool up there.
If your planning on Hampton Beach this weekend get there now! The Sandcastle competition is underway, The weather is going to be hot and that means people, cars, and in general a mess! Too avoid the crowds and get away from the carnival atmosphere just head north on 1-A to North beach or further up to Wallis Sands State Park.
What ever you decide to do this weekend be safe and keep a close eye out for motorcycles and scooters they are everywhere.
A PERFECT SUMMER DAY AT HAMPTON BEACH!
north beach

After a cool start this morning this will be the day to be at Hampton Beach or North Hampton Beach which is pictured above. Temps will be in the 80's with clear sky's so bring plenty of sunblock. Suntan index on a scale of 1 - 10 will an 8 or possibly 9 by afternoon so watch out! Thursday is always a good day to head to Hampton. Crowds are usually manageable especially before the 4th of July. Weekenders don't start arriving until Friday morning which also keeps things a little quieter. They'll be plenty of people looking for that perfect spot in the sand and all the food stands will be in full operation.
Have agreat day at Hampton Beach. And when you get there and think "Doesn't anybody work anymore" I'll be working, someone has to I guess!

THE HAMPTON EATERY
hampton eatery

More restaurant information. The Hampton Eatery is located in the back of the INN of Hampton on Route One. Just across the street from O'Leary's and RonJillians. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Inn itself which is really not an Inn but rather a very nice motel Featuring rooms with chalet ceilings. An indoor pool and a large function room. The restaurant is leased out. The menu for dinner is varied. I have not eaten here since the ownership change but have heard many good things about it. I have however been in the lounge which is a pleasant escape. All windows behind the bar looking out over the perfectly groomed lawns and into the woods. You would never know you were anywhere near route one. Ingrid the bartender is very pleasant and will make sure you enjoy your stay. It is none smoking. As a matter of fact I think the only restaurant away from the beach in Hampton that allows smoking is O'Leary's and they have a separate non- smoking dining area. The lounge has high ceilings and is well lighted (Too much so). I think you'll enjoy it so give it a try. Plenty of parking.
Well welcome to summer "2005"! Get out and enjoy Hampton.
RAY'S SEAFOOD RESTAURANT IN RYE NH
rays

Just North of Rye Harbor right around the real sharp corner you'll discover Ray's Seafood Restaurant. A long standing seafood restaurant. Open almost year round. Andy Widden the owner goes out lobster fishing everyday out of Rye harbor as long as the weather permits. So your not going to get any freshers lobster that this. Since all clams are now comming from the Canadien Maritimes due to the red tide I can't speak of the quality, All resraurants are in the same boat right now. So stick with the lobsters or catch of the day and you can't go wrong. When Andy is not on the boat he is right there in the kitchen cooking your meal. There is a down stairs dining room and a upstairs dining rooom with bar and deck. By the way all dishes and utensils are plastic. But the food is great!!
Perfect ride on thar VESPA!
One more note. Laconia Motorcycle weekend came to a close yestrday. PLEASE USE CAUTION! There will be thousands of bikes on the highways heading south as well as route one. Please make it a safe trip for everyone. Thanks
