THE UNION CHAPEL IN N. HAMPTON

union chapel

Another weekend is here! Another chance to enjoy Hampton and discover the little hide-away things. For example the Union Chapel in North Hampton on Willow Ave. It's right across the street from the fuller Gardens. I believe it's still available to rent for small weddings. It holds about 50 people or less.
Back to the beach! It's going to be a cool one today check out the latest weather to the right a qwikcast. Sunday right through next week looks good so if this is the week you picked for vacation you've done well. I have Sunday-Tuesday off and I'm more than ready to get out and enjoy all that the Seacoast has to offer.
Enjoy your weekend and think safety!

A VESPA CAN GET YOU AWAY FROM HAMPTON BEACH QUICKLY

vespa

Once again I'm steeling from www.vintagevespas@comcast.net but I can't help myself these things are great. Contact Robin for more info on pricing I believe this one is $5995 with the sidecar. I also took some script from her site as well so here is what Robin has to say about her Vespa.

. I love my Vespa !! It is fun, functional, & to me, it is a work of art. Before I bought it, I did a lot of research & found the master of Vespa restoration. He is a true artist, but also listened to my wishes. Such as real leather on all the seating, including a great knee saving leather bumper around the sidecar. It is PERFECT !! Vespas mean different things to different people. To the younger generation, they are symbols of independence & a cool little vehicle. To us older folks, Vespas are nostalgic, a way to bring back many fond memories. A Vespa is not a motorcycle, there is no social stigma attached to riding one. No radiator to boil,no valves to grind, no battery to run down, no fuel pump to fail, no starter to stop starting, maybe your 2nd car shouldn't be a car. I am now taking custom orders for 1960s era Vespas. I will help you decide on options you would like, and color ideas. It is about a 3 month process from beginning to end, when it will be delivered to your home (within 100 miles of Boston), started up, & I will give you a lesson on riding & it's oh so easy maintenance. Call any weekday 9:30 - 6:00 to discuss a plan for YOUR new toy & I can give you a price quote. Just ask for Robin & you can be scootering very soon.

Thanks Robin! Now back to the beach! Let's check the weekend weather.

Friday, mostly cloudy. A chance of showers in the morning, then showers likely in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 60s. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.
Friday night, showers in the evening, then showers likely after midnight. Lows in the upper 50s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday, showers likely. Highs in the mid 60s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.
Saturday night, mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers. lows in the upper 50s. West winds 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday and Sunday night, partly cloudy. Highs around 80. Lows around 60.

You check qwikcast to the right and get satellite or radar info as well as long range.

Well it looks like you might want to find some in door activity for tonight and possibly Saturday but after that the weather looks great. So get out and enjoy the traffic and have a fun SAFE weekend on the seacoast of New Hampshire.

Once again motorcycles and scooters are everywhere please use caution!

HOLIDAY ENDS IN TRAGEDY AT HAMPTON BEACH

hampton

The weather could not have been any better. The crowds were huge about 60,000 plus each day on the beach. Business was booming. Then shortly after 6pm about a dozen people were caught in a rip tide that was unusually strong and relentless. The lifeguards got off duty at 5:45 PM as usual. Folks on the shore noticed the problem and contacted the Coast Guard which immediately sent a ship and helicopter. All but 2 people were saved. One father on shore noticed his son was one of the victims and swam out to save him. The Coast got a life vest to the father who gave it to his son. The son was saved. The father did not make it.
The ocean is a lousy babysitter! As peaceful as that picture above looks don't be deceived. After the spring storms we had the ocean floor has been changed creating perfect conditions for severe rip tides at Hampton as well as other area beaches,
Simple rule" NO LIFEGUARDS, NO SWIMMING" It's no joke! I have heard complaints about "why didn't they have the lifeguards stay later" How late? This could have happened at 7 or 8 anytime! There is no one to blame! When your dealing with the ocean things go bad quickly. Any sailor or fisherman will tell you that.
So Please! Watch your kids every second, stay near the Guard stand and listen to what they tell you. And leave when they leave.
Have a save day at Hampton Beach!
