WELCOME TO MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND AT HAMPTON BEACH NH

We Made It! It's memorial day weekend at Hampton beach All the shops and food stands are open. I can smell those Italian Sausages! It's 4:30 am EDT as I am writing this and the moon is out without a cloud in the sky. Qwikcast is saying chance of showers but also we will see sunshine today as well. So not much to write today. Just get out and enjoy our Seacoast. Oh by the why I picked the red vespa because it kind of has Memorial day and 4th of July colors in the picture.

The wind has stopped! So far the rain has stopped! It's still cloudy but do you think it's possible we could see the sun today? It's been a long spell of cold miserable weather let's hope it's just about over so we all can enjoy the Memorial day weekend at Hampton Beach and Portsmouth and the entire seacoast area of NH.

I have been told that the merchants at Hampton Beach are ready to go despite the weather. So if you do head to the beach this weekend you will find plenty to do. Just dress warm and bring an extra sweatshirt.You'll be glad you did!

NEBURYPORT MA WEEKEND EVENT

The third day of this Nor'Easter is worse than the first. If this was snow....... Well the winds are suppose to change in the next 12 hours or so and slowly push this beast out to see. Leaving us with temps a little more tolerable and the constant threat of showers and some sun. So if Hampton Beach does not sound good to you for this Memorial Day weekend try Newburyport MA. They are having some kind of Parks, Flowers and something else festival this weekend. I think their just running out of names for their festivals. In Newburyport if a pigeon landed on the sidewalk it would be "The Landing Of The Pigeon Festival". Any way they will have their usual tents set up in downtown and from what I hear lots of music so give it a try but remember if your going to Newburyport get there early. By 10 am at the latest for parking. Check Qwikcast to the right often, once again it's the most accurate weather for the coastal area. This would be a perfect Vespa trip!

MEMORIAL DAY RAIN OR SUN FOR HAMPTON BEACH

Well the jury is still out on whether we will have rain or sun for the Memorial day activities at Hampton beach. We still have another two days to deal with this monster of a Nor' Easter. Heavy rain strong winds and high tides are still battering the coast from Ma to Me. Flood warnings are still in effect through Thursday and maybe just maybe we will see some sun and showers for Saturday and Sunday with temps warming to the upper 60's to almost 70. The winds are suppose to change sometime later this week. Check my forecast to the right often they are the most accurate for this area.

So why the yellow Vespa with the sidecar? Because it looks sunny that's why. After all this bad weather is over I'm going to hop on one as fast as I can! And you should as well. As a matter of fact my motorcycle is still in storage! I normally have it out by April 1st but there have only been about two hours since then that I would have even gone for a ride!

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND AT HAMPTON BEACH

Well this is it! We're down to the wire. Hampton Beach is bustling with activity to get ready for Friday which will be the the beginning of the Memorial Day weekend and the official opening day of the summer of 2005. The weather is not helping. Another Nor'Easter is slamming the cost with heavy rain, winds up to 50 miles an hour and extremely high tides do to the full moon just passing. Coastal flooding is expected for high tide tonight. Will we see some sun for the weekend? I would suggest checking in frequently and using the weather site I have provided. This is weather from the national weather service in Grey Maine. All the years I have lived here I find their weather to be the most accurate for this area due to their proximity to the coast. Let's hope for some sun. But the junk food will be going full swing anyway! Check back often for the weather.

WALLIS SANDS STATE PARK RYE,NH

Wallis Sands State Park is about 3 miles north on route 1-A from the Rye Harbor. A perfect place to spend the day at the beach without dealing with all the traffic. This photo is looking down on the beach at one one the parking spots on 1-A. This is probably just about low tide. It is a long slopeing beach with lifeguards, a concession stand and bath and shower facilities. All day parking is under $10.00 and like I said no traffic problems. Just go through Rye and get to routw one or I-95.
