MOTORCYCLE'S ON THE SEACOAST
It's a bikers wish come true! Miles of country roads wind just west of route one. I often start from downtown Hampton and enjoy a perfect ride on the back roads. Very little traffic makes it relaxing. You can ride for an hour or two, never hitting the same road twice and still be just fifteen minutes away from home. Route 1A (the beach road) is a spectacular ride from Hampton to Portsmouth. Then continue on up to York Maine if you like! The lakes region is only an hour and a half away so if you want to catch bike week at Laconia your all set!Within a fifteen mile section of route one you'll find dealers for almost every make bike.G&G CYCLES in Salisbury Ma sells Victory, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha.Seacoast Harley-Davidson in North Hampton (one of the top ten Harley dealers in the country) many special weekend events take place here. This place is HUGE!Great Bay Triumph in North Hampton sells Ducati as well.Depot Honda in Rye NH has Honda and KawasakiMax BMW in North Hampton also sells Ducatti.Plus you will find many independant shops mostly featureing repairs and high performance partsOn any given weekend day in the summer you will find as many motorcycles on route one as cars so be carefull and please leave your loud pipes at home. New Hampshire is trying to pass stiffer laws on load pipes mostly because of the jerks that find it imperative to make noise. If you do have loud pipes please be respectfull.Use extreme caution and watch for bikes the "Ididn't see him" excuse is not going to work if you hit a bike!Blog Your Way To

A TYPICAL DAY AT THE BEACH
On a typical summer day there can be thousands of sun worshipers enjoying the sun and sand of Hampton Beach. If you get to the beach before 9am you can usually find a metered space right on the boulevard. Be sure to bring plenty of quarters! If you arrive late there is plenty of parking in the lots behind the Casino Ballroom. Usually about $5.00 except during heavy traffic days when the prices could go as high as $10.00. Still not a bad deal for all day parking.
HOSPITALS
Superior Health Care Services! Exeter Hospital is fifteen minutes away as well as Portsmouth Regional Hospital. There are too many clinics in the area to name them all. What ever your health care needs are you'll be well cared for.
TRANSPORTATION
Remember, your in Hampton!
There is one taxi company in Hampton. No bus service or other public transportation. Limo service is available from Royal limo in North Hampton.
Amtrak runs the downeaster train from nearby exeter this goes from Portland Me to Boston.
In the summer there is trolley service between the beach and route one as well as from the beach to Portsmouth and the Fox Run Mall.
You will need to rent a car if you fly in. However there are several companies offering airport transportation
BEST BREAKFAST
You'll find many good places for breakfast and here are a few of the most popular.
Hoaty's is a small breakfast spot located on route one in hampton. The food is good and quick. Friendly wait staff and average prices.
Hampton Airfield restaurant is just over the bridge in North Hampton. Make sure you have plenty of time for this one! The food is very good but the service is very slow! It's worth the wait however you'll enjoy the view of the planes coming and going. They have a deck that's open weather permitting. Many visitors have found this place so give yourself a couple of hours for this visit.
Fast Eddy's is just across route one from the Galley Hatch. Very clean and good food. They are fairly new so you can get in and out quickly.
Betty's Kitchen is north on route one. This Is The Place! They have a large clientele do to their excellent home style cooking. Large breakfasts and down home lunches such as meatloaf or turkey. Although they often have a waiting line you'll find that they know how to handle the crowd and things move right along.
HAMPTON SCHOOLS
More information on the Hampton School system can be found on their web site
www.sbohampton.k12.va.us/
Welcome to Hampton City Schools! Our progressive school division, comprised of some 22,000 students, is known for offering parents and students CHOICES. That's because we really understand that one size doesn't fit all. So whether it's Robotics, AP Calculus or our nationally recognized Food Service Program, the Hampton school division has something for everyone.Add to that, the fact that Hampton has more National Board Certified teachers than any other school division on the Peninsula or southside Virginia, and it's clear to see why we're..."The First Choice."

RESTAURANTS
I have decided for now to start with the better in town eaterys. The Galley Hatch in downtown Hampton features seafood and steaks. It is a family restaurant with a large seating capacity and good size lounge. Always busy and always great food. They also have a bakery which is unfairly located in the waiting area just to drive you crazy! The Galley Hatch is a must while visiting the area.
The Old Salt Restaurant is located in the center of town. Originally it was located on the strip at the beach but after a fire destroyed the building they moved to the historic route one site. They had such a great following at the beach that when they opened a few years ago they were packed and have been ever since. A very professional staff capable of handling any surprises. You will have a wait no matter when you get there however it will be worth it. Seafood, Steaks and burger. Great menu good value. Sunday Brunch Is Unbelievable!!!
BRAND NEW AND MY FAVORITE!!!!
RONJILLIANS I shouldn't even tell you about this jewel! But I will Ron and Jill have been in the hospitality business for years. So they got together to open this restaurant. If you do not have a big appetite stay away. The brick oven pizza is perfect the steak tips a great the lasagna is fantastic and the portions are enormous. The average eater should be able to get three or for meals from any of the entrees. The restaurant is very small maybe fifty people so if you want to get in be there when they open at 5:00pm.
The Atlantic Grill
I hate to use the word funky but there is no other way to describe it. Very limited menu good drinks and friendly people. The fish buritto is very popular and the Flat Iron Steak is usually on the menu. They also feature live music. This is a family restaurant so bring everyone I'm sure you will enjoy the evening. Plan on hanging around for a while it's a great place to watch people. One note if you are allergic to seafood you should know that they have one friolator so be carefully with the fries.
O'Leary's Grill
Located on route one. This is a super sports bar with four flat screen televisions a large bar and a separate non-smoking dining room. Fish and chips, sandwiches, burgers. Very good food and reasonable prices. Stop into the Fatboy Lounge for you favorite beverage and maybe a little pool.
Widow Fletcher's Tavern
An English Pub. Widows has been a favorite hangout since the early 80's. A fine selection on the menu from Ploughmans lunch to delicious steaks. They also feature a Sunday Brunch So stop in and enjoy! Best Bllody Mary's in town!!!

HAMPTON BEACH
Where do I start! Hampton is probably best known for Hampton Beach. It has been a popular summer vacation spot for many years. The beach is long and wide with very little under tow under normal conditions. You will find ample accomadations but it's good to book your stay well in advance. From Memorial Day to the week after Labor Day the beach is in full swing. Free fireworks displays take place every Wednesday and Saturday night. Free entertainment from plays to rock music takes place nightly outside at the Shell.
If you love Junk Food you'll be in heaven! From Fried Doe to Italian Sausage there is no lack vendors.
Good food is also available at the many fine restaurants located on the strip.
The seafood Festival takes place the week after Labor Day and attracts about 200,000 hungry folks for this popular annual event. They have started charging a $5.00 donation (not a good idea)

AIRPORTS
There are three major airports within a one hour drive of Hampton. Logan International in Boston is one hour away to the south. Manchester NH Airport is about forty five minutes to the west. Manchester would be my choice due to the ease of getting in and out. The other choice would be Portland Jet Port in Portland ME which is one hour to the North. If you have your own small plane there is a quaint airfield in North Hampton with a dirt runway and great restaurant. More on the restaurant in another section. If you have your own private jet or are looking for charter service there is Pease International Tradeport in Portsmouth just fifteen minutes away. This is a former S.A.C. base and regularly accomodates the National Guards C 5s And KC-130s. This is where Air Force One Lands when the president goes to Maine to visit Dad. So as you can see you have quite a few options in you plan on flying!
LOCATION
Hampton NH is located on the seacoast of New Hampshire in the southeastern corner of the state. It's easy access has always made this area popular with New Englanders. Many of our Canadian neighbors also make the annual trek to enjoy our beaches and fine restaurants. Hampton has easy access to route I-95 and is just one hour north of Boston, thirty minutes east of Manchester NH and an hour south of Portland ME.
