EXETER NH FROM HAMPTON BEACH
Exeter Bandstand

Welcome to Exeter, the colonial capital of the state of New Hampshire.
The town of Exeter is located in southeastern Rockingham County within 10 miles of the Atlantic Ocean. It is situated on both the fresh water Exeter River and the salty Squamscott River, which intersect through a series of dams in the center of the town.
Exeter boasts of an active downtown section, an excellent school system, a dynamic public library, a busy recreation program for all ages, several parks and recreation areas, and many civic and cultural organizations.
It is also the home of Phillips Exeter Academy, the American Independence Museum, several sculptures by Daniel Chester French, and many fine examples of federal architecture.
The Library has an extensive reference collection, as well as a well-respected collection of genealogical sources. The Bandstand pictured above was built in 1895 and is still in use today. So if your looking to get away from the crowds at Hampton Beach for a while. Head over to Exeter and enjoy the shops and the history without a thousand people around you. What ever you decide to do have a great day on the New hampshires Seacoast
GLOUCESTER MA FROM HAMPTON NH
Gloucester

America's oldest fishing port. Since 1623, Gloucester has been serving the world as a harvester of quality seafood. First named "Le Beauport" by Samuel de Champlain because of its beautiful harbor and scenic rocky shores, Gloucester has been a destination community ever since. Those seeking spectacular natural beauty, an energetic and picturesque working port, a diverse population who continue to honor their cultural traditions, a variety of recreational activities, and one of the premier art colonies of our country, enjoy visiting this historic city. Conveniently located less than one hour from Hampton, Gloucester is a place of welcome for a visit, to live, or to build a successful business. Getting to Gloucester will take you through Ipswich, and Essex as well and as I have said before Essex is a great place for antiques as well as fried clams,
It looks like the weather is going to be a little unsettled today so try some of the places I have suggested. You'll have a great day. I like Salem MA on a dark rainy day it kind of fits the witch theme and there are many indoor activities as well.
Have a great day on the Seacoast!
SALEM MA FROM HAMPTON NH
Pirates museum

If you have traveled a long distance to get to Hampton Beach You probably would like to see more of the area so here is another suggestion. Salem Ma, Salem is rich in history and home of the famous witch trials. You'll find plenty to see and do. The photo above is from the pirates museum. Museums are everywhere in Salem. You can tour the witch house. Visit the House of Seven Gables the home of Nathaniel Hawthorne and many more. Restaurants are plentiful and for the most part you can walk. There is trolley service around town as well. Recently a statue of Elizabeth Montgomery from Bewitched was put up which caused a little unrest among the witch haters. It takes about 45 minutes to get to Salem from here. You can head down route one or 95. I suggest route one but check with map quest for detailed directions.
Once again another nice day weather wise for the beach so enjoy it!
HARLEY DAY AT O'LEARY'S GRILLE
harley day

It's a little early for this announcement but I thought some of you may want to know about it in advance.
This was definately the week to pick for your vacation the weather is cooperateing nicely. The rip tides continue to be a problem at Hampton Beach. Yesterday the lifeguards were busy closing different sections of the beach due to the problem.
Once again today the weather will be perfect with no thunderstorms in sight for this afternoon! temps will be in the 70's.
Enjoy the beach and make it a safe day.
ULTRALIGHT FLY-IN GREENLAND NH
ultralight

I was riding my bike up Post Road yesterday and realized the the Fly-IN at Sanderson field was taking place this week. This is must see for the whole family. Ultrlight entusiast fly in from all over to spend the week camping out and flying their planes. I think they charge a dollar for parking and they do have hamburgers and hotdogs. In the evening they have a candy drop for the kids. You'll see every kind of Ultralight aircraft there is. To get there just head north on route one. As soon as you go over the North Hampton Bridge take a left. That's Post Road. Just keep going on Post Road maybe 5 or 6 miles you can't miss it.
Have a great day at Hampton Beach it's going to be another beautiful day! Watch for late afternoon thunderstorms,

I actually have 3 days off in a row. So what does a local guy do? First it's get the motorcycle out, clean it off and head out. I think I convinced myself about the Old Salt Brunch or maybe the N. Hampton airport if I get their early enough. Then it's off to Newburyport for a cup of coffee on the boardwalk and watch the boats coming and going for a while. Then head up the beach road and maybe Portsmouth for a late lunch at the Rusty Hammer.
What ever you decide to do be safe and Please watch out for motorcycles!
