EXETER NEW HAMPSHIRE

Exeter NH is only ten minutes to the west Of Hampton. Exeter was the Capital of New Hampshire during the Revolutionary War. There are many small shops in downtown Exeter. Parking is limited but you'll find a place. The Loaf and ladle restaurant is right downtown which makes it a perfect spot for lunch. Home made soups, breads and sandwiches are the mainstay of this popular eatery.

Exeter is the home of Phillps Exeter Academy. their sprawling campus makes up most of the real estate surrounding the downtown area. Many famous people have attended Phillips. Most recently the Olsen twins attended the academy before heading off to collage in New York.

You can enjoy a long walk down to the river area which is a park that winds along the banks of the quiet river. Great place to eat a sandwich, lie in the sun or read a book.

The Exeter Inn is also a must see. The rooms are elegant and the restaurant is pricey but many people enjoy this area landmark.

There are several inns in the downtown area if you'd like to spend a night or two.

One more thing. The Ioka Theatre. A real old fashioned movie theatre with the big seats and one screen! Bring the kids to this place they won't believe that people actually went to a movie theatre that only showed one movie at a time!
